The Devil Wears Prada are a Metalcore band from Ohio. They are supposedly a Christian band and took their name from the novel thinking that it was about anti-materialism.

It is definitely ironic that they would share a stage with King Diamond and Slayer, both iconic bands that have laced their entire careers with Satanic imagery.

The Devil Wears Prada are very growly for most verse lyrics but then utilize the ultra popular clean vocals on the chorus. There was way too much of this type of stuff on the second stage for my tastes and these guys seem to exasperate this style.

They look like a bunch of hipsters on stage and certainly don't come across as a Christian band at first look or listen so I am sure that any message they hoped to convey went over anyone's head that hasn't read their lyrics.

The Devil Wears Prada have been around ten years and are really popular but most of the audience at this festival was either interested in Whitechapel that played immediately before these guys or the three main acts that would come directly after, the pit area and seats were nearly empty while these guys played their set.

Musically I like that they incorporate keyboards and electronic sounds and I like like their drumming style. Some of their riffs are good as well but I honestly do not like their vocals at all. They range from screamed to growled to more melodic Metalcore style chorus sections but I never could really get into them.
