Lords of Acid burst upon the burgeoning electronic music scene in the late 1980's featuring a hybrid sound of drug fueled industrial, elements of house, and dance-able techno beats and synths.

Their debut single "I Sit on Acid" incorporated outrageously sexual lyrics with equally dirty synths bathed in distortion and effects and layered with poignant samples.

Nearly thirty years later, founder and sole original member, Praga Khan, has kept the torch burning with a total of seven studio albums coming out over that time span in addition to EP's, remixes, live albums and greatest hits releases.

Since 2011 Praga has been joined by the lovely Mea Fisher handling lead vocal duties and on this tour also has the additional help of Galen Wailing on drums, Joe Haze on guitars, DieTrich Thrall on bass guitar, and Devon Ann on backing vocals.

This tour was a celebration of their second album, "Voodoo U" and fittingly, would feature songs from that release most heavily in the set. They opened the show with the title track from said album, which in my opinion is the best one off of it and a great starter.

They did a lot of fan favorites from "Voodoo U" including "Young Boys", "She and Mrs. Jones", "Out Comes the Evil", and "Marijuana in Your Brain".  My personal favorite track besides "Voodoo U" from this portion of the set was "Blowing Up Your Mind".

They followed up with "The Crablouse" and then a montage of older material including "Rough Sex" and "Take Control", the latter being the main highlight of the night for me.

It was a great show from the Belgian pioneers of blending industrial, rock, acid-house, and dance music. I would have loved to have even more time devoted to their debut album "Lust" but "Voodoo U" is better suited to a live full-band situation with its genre-bending songs and heavier use of guitars and live drums.
